Realistic and achievable
Preparation of budgets begins in June. Budgets include gathering bids for capital items, reviewing capital needs assessments and five year plans, polling utility companies for potential increases, and looking at historical data to use as a base point. Budgets are reviewed by the corporate office then submitted to owners for review, comment, and approval no later than October 1st. Once approved, budgets are given to site managers and regional managers December 1st, and subsequently entered into the accounting software.
